Improve Your Home from the Ground Up

Choose the right flooring for your home. Whether looking to make your entryway and kitchen more durable or the family room more soft and clean, new flooring is the way to go. Rigid Core SPC luxury vinyl plank is the best option for flooring in new homes and remodels. It is easy to install, waterproof, scratch-resistant, and extremely durable compared to other floors.

While remodeling or DIY-ing new floors, check and see if a radiant electric heated floor is an upgrade you would be interested in. Heated floors can help make the kitchen more relaxing or keep the floor warm for in or out of the shower, as well as many more places it could go.

What are LVP, EVP, and SPC?

LVP - Luxury Vinyl Plank vs EVP - Engineered Vinyl Plank

LVP is generally a simple plastic core where EVP has an engineered or rigid core, such as SPC, but the terms can be used interchangeably if you know the type of core flooring material. Luxury vinyl plank is meant to look like planks of hardwood floors, whereas LVT (luxury vinyl tile) is meant to look like tile or stone. Luxury vinyl plank is the fastest-growing category and innovation in the flooring market with plenty of options to choose from. There are non-rigid core options, but those are generally not the best. SPC is the type of rigid core LVP that we recommend.

  • Real hardwood look and feel

  • Waterproof

  • Installed on top of almost any flat surface

  • Saves you money vs hardwood or tile

  • More sound resistant than glue down vinyl and laminate

  • Comfort for your feet due to the underlayment

  • Easy to install for do it yourself or professionals

  • Easy to clean with most all-purpose cleaners

SPC - Stone Plastic Composite

This is the rigid core that makes up the better types of LVP. SPC is the latest technology for flooring cores that uses stone (limestone). Compared to SPC, WPC, wood plastic composite, has micro air bubbles that make it easier for denting and can curl in sunlight or high heat, whereas SPC does not. SPC is more rigid, thinner, and less likely to dent.

  • 20 mil wear layer is commercial grade to make sure the flooring lasts

  • Durable with scuff, dent, and scratch resistance

  • Rigid Core SPC is better than simple PVC/vinyl

  • A floating floor can be placed on multiple surfaces, adhesive is not required

  • Does not require underlayment as it is preinstalled on the flooring

  • Waterproof as SPC is made of a stone plastic composite

  • Better than laminate

  • SPC is non-toxic and formaldehyde-free

  • Similar brands that use SPC: Shaw, COREtec, Mohawk, NuCore, and other more expensive brands

What is an Electric Radiant Heated Floor?

Electric underfloor heating heats wiring beneath the floor to generate heat. Radiant heat provides warmth from the floor up throughout the room without any cold spots or stuffiness in the area being heated. Electric radiant floor heating systems are generally very efficient and use as much or less energy than other heating systems. A floor heating system costs less to run also heats the room more evenly than a heated water pumped room. An in-floor radiant heating system is much more long-lasting when compared to a normal furnace. A high-quality radiant heat system can last more than 35 years if it is taken care of and maintained properly.
