Shower Bases, Trays, and Pans
The Easiest Way to Slope and Install a Tile Shower Base
The base of any shower is an important part to build right. Shower trays help you install and slope tile on the floor of the shower and keep the water running towards the drain. Using a shower tray will give a consistent and even slope to make sure the shower feels smooth and balanced.
To install a shower tray, use mortar mix on all sides to secure it in position and to hold the tile in place. Rather than leveling an entire bed of mortar, level the tray just once and continue your slope from there.
Types of Shower Trays for Tile Showers
Walk-In Shower Trays
Need an easy/handicap-accessible shower? Walk-in showers with curbless shower trays are the way to go with your remodel or installation. Pair it with a linear shower drain for a complete installation.
Standard Shower Trays
These are the tile shower trays to make a tile shower installation simpler and to save time. A shower curb is required to make sure the water does not roll over the edge and to keep the slope minimal.
